Happy Thanksgiving. Just thought I’d share that sentiment and my idea of a non-turkey turkeyday meal!
That’s steamed Curry Salmon and sliced mushrooms and a heap of Jasmine Rice (love that stuff).
The rice was cooked in a regular pot, as I can’t see the money to buy a “Rice Cooker” though I imagine they are nice to have.
The Salmon was marinated in a mixture of Soy Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Curry Powder, and Cornstarch – I don’t know the amounts, I don’t measure…
Then the fish was slapped into the bottom layer of a Bamboo Steamer on a piece of parchment paper (next time I want to try Lettuce leaves) while the mushrooms went into the top layer. I also poured some of the marinade over, and scattered a handful of chopped green onions on top of, the Salmon fillet.
Brought it to a boil and 10 mins later it was food!
